Conferences
Independent Living Trials (ILTs) are a huge step in a client’s rehabilitation journey for the client, their family and the team around them. Rehabilitate Therapy’s inaugural conference, in conjunction with ABI solutions, was held in 2026 and it brought together clinical, practical, legal and lived-experience perspectives in the field of ILTs.

CPD for external groups
At Rehabilitate Therapy we enjoy sharing good practice. This may take the form of a dedicated, clinically informed training session for an external group or we can also offer our skills and experience as one of the contributors in a broader CPD session. An example of the latter was our participation in the 2025 Humber and North Yorkshire ABI Network's annual CPD event, where we had the privilege of sharing the remarkable rehabilitation journey of Jake Cooper, now Client Liaison at Rehabilitate Therapy. Jake presented alongside his OT, offering delegates a compelling insight into his experience of navigating life after injury — from the early stages of recovery through to building a fulfilling career and establishing his own Physical Training business. Their joint presentation brought to life the transformative impact of a collaborative, person-centred approach to rehabilitation and it highlighted the enduring and evolving role that occupational therapy continues to play in Jake's life — not just as a clinical intervention, but as an ongoing partnership.

CPD for Rehabilitate Therapy Associates
When an OT joins Rehabilitate Therapy as an associate, they become part of a community of highly experienced fellow professionals who are keen to share experience and knowledge. At Rehabilitate Therapy, we foster this through enabling resource sharing through our online intranet, Octavia, a community WhatsApp group, our team away days, event attendance, study days and through CPD sessions. Our occupational therapists are only a phone call, message or click away from useful information and guidance from their peers and other MDT colleagues, and this open communication enables cost effective and efficient rehabilitation for their clients. The Associate CPD programme has covered topics like Working in the Medico Legal Field, Travelling and Inclusive Holidays, Family Therapy, Driving and Adapted Vehicles, Goal Setting and Outcomes and Effects of Medication on Recovery.

Nurturing the next generation of OTs
Many of the Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTAs) that work with Rehabilitate Therapy are current OT students, and the hands-on experience they gain through their time with us is an invaluable part of their professional training and development. Working within an independent occupational therapy setting offers a unique perspective that simply cannot be replicated in a classroom and is one that broadens their understanding of the profession and equips them with real-world skills that they will carry throughout their careers.

Rehabilitate Reflections
Rehabilitate Reflections is a blog series published on LinkedIn by the occupational therapists at Rehabilitate Therapy, offering a space to share professional insight, reflection and continued learning. Some posts take the form of thought leadership, where OTs draw on their clinical experience to explore topics such as the value of establishing daily routine with clients, or how to develop occupations that are genuinely meaningful and purposeful in promoting health and wellbeing: evaluating the approaches they have taken, acknowledging the challenges encountered along the way, and articulating what those experiences have taught them. Others are prompted by events and training that OTs have attended, from exploring the use of virtual reality in neuro rehabilitation to considering the relevance of good MDT working, where contributors are keen to reflect on what they witnessed, what resonated and how it might shape their practice.
