Charitable Initiatives

London Marathon

Charity runs have become one of the most effective and enduring fundraising formats around, and for good reason — they combine personal challenge, community spirit and social visibility in a way that very few other events can match.

At Rehabilitate Therapy, we recognise the real value these events bring, both to the participants themselves and to the charities closest to our hearts. We sponsor members of our team in runs across the country, supporting them through their training journeys and sharing their stories with our wider network — drawing in donors who want to be part of something meaningful. The way we approach this matters: by building a narrative around each challenge, we help the charity gain not just funds, but visibility that can translate into future donors, volunteers and long-term supporters.

Recently our Business Director, Phil Crowther, took on the 2026 London Marathon in aid of Headway Derby. We followed his training journey on social media, weaving in the story of the charity he was running for — because understanding who benefits from every pound raised is what turns a passive donation into a genuine connection.

Headway Derby supports anyone affected by brain injury across Derby and Derbyshire, offering community rehabilitation services for survivors, families and carers alike. As a small charity, their road has not always been smooth — they have faced funding losses, service closures, staff reductions and the upheaval of relocating premises. They rely heavily on fundraising efforts like Phil's to keep their services running for the people who need them most.

Christmas Cake Off Competition

"The Great Rehabilitate Therapy Christmas Cake Off" proved that charity competitions don't have to be serious to be meaningful. Referrers were handed a blank canvas — a plain cake and a set of icing pens — and challenged to unleash their artistic talents, whether that meant elaborate festive scenes, bold company branding or something in between. The real power, though, lay with the Rehabilitate Therapy Client Community, who held the judging paddles and got to crown the winners and direct their prize donations to rehabilitation charities. Fun, inclusive and genuinely impactful — it's hard to ask more from a cake!

Birthday Initiative

As part of our commitment to charitable giving, Rehabilitate Therapy has established a scheme that connects the personal milestones of our team with our wider charity programme. Each year, when an OT or OTA celebrates their birthday, we put aside a donation on their behalf to one of our chosen charitable organisations (often put forward by our OTs/OTAs). Donations are recorded and accumulated throughout the year, with totals compiled for each charity at year's end. This approach ensures that our charitable giving reflects the values held by the individuals who make up our team, is personally meaningful and aligned with our ethos. The Yorkshire Air Ambulance was one of the charities to benefit from the Rehabilitate Therapy birthday initiative and to highlight this connection, Phil ran to their base as part of his marathon training to find out more about the work that the YAA do.
